We are looking for an experienced PMO Head/Lead to establish, lead, and oversee the Project Management Office (PMO). This role will involve strategic planning, governance, and guidance to ensure that project management practices across the organization align with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing resources, overseeing project execution, and ensuring adherence to PMO policies and best practices.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the PMO framework, aligning it with company goals and objectives.
- Define and implement standardized project management processes, methodologies, and templates.
- Ensure project governance by setting clear policies and procedures for project tracking and reporting.
- Review project progress and performance metrics, providing necessary support to project teams.
- Oversee project risk management, ensuring timely identification, escalation, and resolution of issues.
- Allocate and manage project resources effectively to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Optimize the utilization of human and technical resources to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Act as a central point of contact for project stakeholders, maintaining strong communication with senior leadership and team members.
- Provide regular project updates and insights, including KPIs, financials, and performance metrics.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in project management methodologies.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, recommending and implementing relevant improvements.
- Mentor and guide project managers to build project management capabilities across the team.
- Manage client financing, including budget planning, tracking, and billing processes to ensure transparency and accuracy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client communications, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Ensure timely and professional communication with clients regarding project status, updates, and financial aspects.
Skills Required
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6-10 years project management experience in reputable Software organizations.
- Excellent English communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
- Good logical and analytical skills, with a strong desire to solve complex and challenging problems.
- Must be an excellent people manager, able to lead cross-functional teams with respect.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to recognize technical, management, and cost risks and recommend mitigation approaches.
- Experience supporting and documenting software release projects.
- Knowledge of agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.
- Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories, etc.
- Familiar with common development practices, Service-oriented environments, and Agile practices.
- Experience with various commercially available software engineering tools, such as Git, Jira, Asana, etc.
